The Chinese Neuroscience Society (CNS), in partnership with the Society for Neuroscience (SfN), is pleased to launch a joint travel grant initiative to strengthen global engagement and support career development. This program aims to promote active participation in the annual meetings of both organizations.
In 2026, each society will award travel grants to five outstanding applicants to support their attendance at the respective annual meeting.
Application Requirements
Prior to applying, applicants must submit an abstract to SfN Neuroscience 2026 via the official website:

The abstract submission period is May 27 – June 10, 2026, and applicants are responsible for covering the submission and registration fees in advance.
Upon selection, CNS awardees will receive:
-A travel stipend of USD 2,500, provided after submission of proof of in-person attendance
-A full waiver of the meeting registration fee, which will be refunded by SfN
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
-Be living and working in China at the time of travel
-Be a PhD student or postdoctoral fellow in neuroscience
-Be a current CNS member
-Be the first author of an abstract submitted to the SfN Annual Meeting
-Not have received another CNS travel award within the same calendar year
-Preference will be given to applicants with limited prior experience living or working in the United States.
Selection Criteria
Recipients will be selected based on:
-The scientific merit of the submitted abstract
-The overall strength of the application materials
